From this year Swedish fans for the first time are getting their own award for the League celebrations in November – Allsvenskans Stora Pris.
”It is fantastic that Swedish football know the importance to lift the value and importance of away fans.” says Sofia Bohlin CEO of the Swedish Football Supporter Union (SFSU).
The fan award will go to the club elected to be the best in take care of their opponents fans regarding service, security, receiving and hospitality and will be elected out of a jury containing one supporter, one SLO and the Security manager from each one of all 16 clubs in Allsvenskan.
The award has it origin from a document presented by SFSU in prior to the 2017 season to improve the away sections in Swedish football stands. The purpose was to help the home clubs increase their amount of away traveling fans by helping them receive the fans of their opponent in a better way, thereby contributing to higher attendance and even better atmosphere in the stadiums. As part of this, the supporters now want to show their appreciation to the club that has done the best work in recieve their guests from the opponent teams.
”It is with great joy and pride that I look at the development that has taken place from the matter being a discussion question at SFSU’s annual meeting to become an award. For us, football is much more than just a 90 minutes game. Football is a powerful movement that engages and activates millions of people outside the pitch”, says Sofia Bohlin.
”The supportership and the atmosphere that the supporters create is a clear success factor for Swedish football. We are happy to be able to offer our fans their own award to give to the club treating them with most service and hospitality and in the safest way possible”, says Kaveh Sarvari, Event developer at the Swedish Football League.
This year Allsvenskans Stora Pris will be a gathering for all the club people, players and managers instead of a tv studio event. The event will take place on November 7th and will also be live broadcast in Swedish television between 19:30-21:00.
Allsvenskans Stora Pris is the League celebrations for the two top tiers Allsvenskan and Superettan. Later on in November the Swedish FA holds Fotbollsgalan – the annual awards for the entire Swedish football family.
