The Allsvenskan and Superettan Away Card continues to be a success. Prior to the 2018 season, the card giving supporters access to all of their away games has been sold with good numbers, and a total of nine clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan have sold all their 100 Away Cards. In Allsvenskan  AIK, Djurgårdens IF, Hammarby IF, Malmö FF, IFK Göteborg, IFK Norrköping and IK Sirius sold all their Away Cards and in Superettan, GAIS and Helsingborg’s IF sold all their Away Cards.

The Away Card, formerly called the Fan Card, is out for sale for the sixth consecutive season and the popularity continues to increase. Each club gets 100 Away Cards to sell at a reasonable price and this is a smooth solution for loyal fans who want to follow their team in the away stands as well. In Helsingborg, which are doing their second straight season in the Superettan, it is not uncommon that the demand is high on the Away Card.

”We have strong and faithful fans and many also follow the team on away matches,” says the SLO of Helsingborg Alexander Ström.

According to Alexander, the demand for the Away Card is a lot about simplifying the away match experience for a traveling supporter.

”Regardless of the arena, you know that you have a place in the away section and do not have to queue before each match and relate to different ticketing systems.”

Among the Swedish clubs, IK Sirius in 2017 sold the Away Cards for the first time. During their debut season, the Uppsala club sold 55 away cards, but this year, in 2018, all 100 have been sold. An increase that Sirius SLO Lukas Krehla welcomes.

”First and foremost, we have fantastic fans. This year we also have a good idea of what the Away Card means and what the benefits are. I think that the Away Card can be a way in the long run is a way of increasing the league image, and we are clearly proud if our fans can help us”, says Lukas.

There is still a chance to buy your own Away Card. Check with your club if there are any available. 50% of revenue goes directly to the selling club. The other 50% are paid into Swedish Elite Football, which then distributes revenue evenly between the clubs.
