About Swedish Professional Football Leagues

Founded: 1928
Members: 32 (the Allsvenskan and Superettan clubs)
Business: Football

The Swedish Professional Football Leagues is a member organisation acting on behalf of the 32 clubs in the two top football leagues Allsvenskan and Superettan. The mission is to promote and develop men’s elite football domestically in Sweden; sportingly, financially, commercially as well as administratively.

Through joint partnership agreements, the Swedish Professional Football Leagues aim to provide its member clubs improved financial conditions for elite football with an ambition to also achieve international success by the participating Swedish clubs in the European club competitions organised by UEFA.

The Swedish Professional Football Leagues contribute through targeted marketing and communication to create a greater public interest for club football at highest possible level.

Together with the member clubs, the Swedish Professional Football Leagues are working actively to prevent any forms of violence or discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or age.

Vision and mission

The Swedish Professional Football Leagues shall, on behalf of the member clubs and the executive board, promote and proactively develop the conditions for men’s elite football within the top leagues Allsvenskan and Superettan through cooperation with the member clubs, partners and the Swedish Football Association (SvFF).

The vision can be described as follows:

In our work, The Swedish Professional Football Leagues should always strive to exceed the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

This vision should be interpreted as follows: In order to ensure the long-term success of the goals and ambitions, all member clubs need to be involved and work collaboratively with a shared ambition. It is not merely the task of the administration and the Executive Board to take responsibility to achieve these goals, however, it is the full-time task of the administration to monitor, to find solutions and to continuously work to achieve the set goals. In this work, a special emphasis should be given to the importance of ensuring that the Swedish Professional Football Leagues, together with the member clubs and partners, fully understand the benefits of what we do, and that the expectations of the member clubs are exceeded, for the long-term success for all parties involved.
