With just over a third of the season played and Allsvenskan now on its summer break, it is clear that the surge in attendance continues. In total, stadiums in Allsvenskan and Superettan have seen nearly 60,000 more visits compared to the same period last season.
“Both leagues continue to grow. The appetite for live football remains strong,” says Ola Rydén, league manager at Swedish Professional Football Leagues.
Allsvenskan has increased by 50,000 visits after twelve rounds (thirteen for some clubs) compared to the same number of games in 2024. So far, a total of 1,086,316 stadium visits have been recorded. The average attendance per match is 11,084, compared to 10,763 in 2024.

The 25th-anniversary Superettan has seen an increase of 7,000 spectators after eleven rounds and now averages 2,501 spectators per match. At the same point last year, the average was 2,423. A total of 220,163 stadium visits have been made in Superettan so far.
“The stadiums are alive with energy and atmosphere, and football continues to be in the spotlight. That’s how it should be, but we can never take it for granted. The clubs’ efforts in attracting audiences are improving every day, while the atmosphere created by the supporters is drawing more and more people to the arenas. It’s all part of the same ecosystem,” says Ola Rydén.
As was the case last year, clubs will be rewarded for their efforts to draw in fans during the season through Unibet’s initiative, “Publikstödet” (The Crowd Support). The aim of this initiative is to support what matters most in Swedish football — the fans’ engagement. A total of 20 million SEK will be distributed among the clubs to reward their work in attracting audiences. No club will receive less than 200,000 SEK.
