Soon the 2023 season kicks off. One of the novelties this season is Football Play.

Fotboll Play is a free service where the 32 teams that play in Allsvenskan and Superettan each have their own Play channel. The clubs share their own material on their own page and the user can also find academy games played away from home – all on one and the same platform.

“This is a strategically important investment where the clubs collect their video content in one and the same place. Supporters and football enthusiasts can easily search for a player, see the goals again or find the latest content from their favorite club. That’s how many people choose to follow football today”, says Jeja Svensson, product owner for Fotboll Play and responsible for digital transformation at Swedish Professional Football Leagues.

Fotboll Play is under development, but already today users can find archive clips from 2017 onwards from Allsvenskan and Superettan and watch exclusive live broadcasts. After each played league round, match clips from goals, penalties, finishes, warnings, expulsions and offsides from both leagues are also available.

Fotboll Play also offers the additional service Highlights Plus. For SEK 35 a month, you can see all goals and other highlights from all matches in Allsvenskan and Superettan – exactly when they happened.

“Several clubs broadcast and share content on the platform today – everything from studio programs and interviews to academy matches and press conferences. I am very satisfied with the response so far and that we got the basics in place before the start of the 2023 season”, continues Jeja Svensson.

On Monday, the kick-off meeting for Allsvenskan was broadcast on Fotboll Play. On the 27th of March you can follow the kick-off meeting for Superettan.

Fotbollplay.se is a joint venture from Swedish Professional Football Leagues and the 32 member clubs. The design agency Grau has been responsible for UX and brand design.
