eAllsvenskan was a great success and is now followed by Nordic Masters. The tournament where the best e-sports teams at FIFA from Sweden, Norway and Denmark will fight for the title. Nordic Masters is a tournament created by Dreamhack together with the leagues in the three countries. Sweden will be represented by the champions of eAllsvenskan, Malmö FF, and by the runners up Örebro SK.

”Our first season of eAllsvenskan has been a wonderful experience with high-class games and great interest. It feels right that our top teams now can measure up with their Nordic competitors. This is a natural step for eFootball which we believe will grow considerably over the next few years, ”says Niclas Janson, Digital Development Manager at Svensk Elitfotboll.

Nordic Masters – Powered by DreamHack is a one-day tournament at Dreamhack Summer, on June 16 in Jönköping, Sweden, where the best FIFA players in Scandinavia will be playing against each other for the title. The two best teams from eAllsvenskan meet the finalists from the Danish eSuperliga and Norwegian Altibox eSerien in the tournament.

Every year, thousands of eSports supporters gather at Dreamhack Summer and Nordic Masters becomes the perfect environment for them to gather in. Marcus Lindmark, CEO at Dreamhack is impressed by how fast eSport and FIFA tournaments have developed in Scandinavia.

“We’re extremely proud to already be able to bring a Nordic FIFA-product and tournament in addition to the national leagues. Seeing the success with the three FIFA-leagues locally in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, for us, it seemed like the obvious next step to cooperate around a Nordic cross-bordertournament. We love to compete against each other here up north, and now we have a tournament where the competition revolves around finding the best FIFA-team in all of the Nordics; an unofficial Nordic Championship”

Discovery, which has also ben broadcasting eAllsvenskan, will be on site at Nordic Masters to broadcast this tournament as well.

“We are very pleased to have secured the rights to ‘Nordic Masters – Powered by Dreamhack’, which emphasizes the solid position we have built within esports with two successful seasons of the eSuperliga. It has to this extent given a boost to the Danish FIFA-stage and created new fans, which we are sure will also look forward to seeing the star players from F.C. Copenhagen and Brøndby IF compete against their Nordic neighbors,”said Discovery NetworksSports Director Anders Bay, continuing:

“Compared to traditional sports coverage, this is an area that for us and the industry is still relatively new territory, but of course we adopt the seriousness and professionalism that characterizes our classic sports coverage. ‘Nordic Masters – Powered by Dreamhack’ will be no exception, and we look forward to attracting even more FIFA fans to the screen for a friendly Nordic neighboring game with world-class virtual football.”
