In connection with Allsvenskans Stora Pris (Allsvenskan’s Grand Prize), staff from the 32 elite clubs gathered for a full day at the Quality Hotel Strawberry in Stockholm. In addition to the awards ceremony and the live televised gala in the evening, the day’s program included various functional meetings and guest lectures.
This year, Allsvenskans Stora Pris was enriched by the celebration of Allsvenskan’s 100th anniversary. The gala, which was first held in 2013 and serves as a comprehensive industry day for the Swedish football community, took on a new format to not only celebrate and highlight the most recent season but also the past 100 years. Before the evening’s live TV gala, several functional meetings were held where club staff had the opportunity to connect across club boundaries to inspire and share experiences with one another.
“Allsvenskan’s Grand Prize, aside from the TV gala, is an opportunity to bring together all 32 member clubs and their staff to discuss shared issues and development areas. The content of the functional meetings is primarily based on the needs of the clubs, and for several functions, reference groups are involved in planning these meetings to ensure maximum relevance for the participants,” says Kaveh Sarvari, Event and Private Market Manager at Swedish Professional Football Leagues.
This year, short functional meetings were held for topics such as B2B/B2C Business Meeting, Finance Meeting, Sustainability Meeting, Communications Meeting, SLO Meeting, Sport Directors Meeting, Sports Data Meeting, and Security Meeting. These were followed by open seminars where participants could choose which ones to attend. Before lunch, the theme focused on sporting development, while after lunch, the theme shifted to digital development.
“An equally important aspect is that people get to meet. Part of our vision for Allsvenskans Stora Pris is for it to serve as our shared season finale, where club employees and the elite football community come together year after year to socialize and strengthen relationships across boundaries,” Sarvari continues.
After the open seminars, all conference participants attended a joint inspirational lecture. For an hour, sports journalist Simon Bank shared his perspective on the world of football and discussed his book, Who Killed My Football?.
The day concluded with a live TV gala where all participants gathered to celebrate Swedish elite football and the season’s best performances and contributions. Alongside the live gala, there was also an internal award ceremony focused on recognizing the off-pitch efforts made by the clubs and their staff.
