Seven clubs have sold out of all their Away season tickets for the 2023 season. A total of 1,275 supporters of the clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan will be able to see all of their team’s away games in the stadiums during the season.
“We know that there are requests to enable more Away season tickets, which is of course gratifying”, says Kaveh Sarvari, event and private market manager at Swedish Professional Football Leagues.

The Away season ticket continues to sell very well in many of the clubs. This year, seven clubs have sold all of their Away season tickets, which enable supporters to see all of their team’s away matches in the stadiums throughout Sweden.

The clubs that have sold out their Away season tickets are AIK, Djurgården, Hammarby, IF Elfsborg, IFK Gothenburg and Malmö FF in Allsvenskan as well as GAIS in Superettan.

“Currently, there is a consensus among the clubs regarding 100 Away season tickets per club due to the favorable price and the agreed distribution principle. We will investigate the possibility of increasing the number of Away season tickets and see what consequences that would have on the price and the distribution of income between the clubs so that it is fair for all parties”, says Kaveh Sarvari.

The purpose of the Away season ticket is to provide a good price and create predictability for loyal supporters who travel around the country to see their favorite team. For SEK 1,000, an average of SEK 67 per match, the holder of the Away season tickets sees all of their team’s away games in Allsvenskan. The corresponding price is SEK 800 (SEK 53 on average) in Superettan. The Away season ticket is administered and sold by the respective club in Allsvenskan and Superettan. Many clubs say that the interest is so great that they can sell significantly more Away season tickets.

The clubs themselves currently retain 50% of their sales of the Away season tickets. The other 50% is paid to Swedish Professional Football Leagues, which then distributes the revenue evenly between the clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan.
