It is time for the sixth consecutive season in Allsvenskan and Superettan with an official match ball from SELECT Sport. The 2022 match ball is now on the market – this year with a new interesting look.

“This year is extra exciting. We have developed a new innovative design with a completely new design language”, says Richard Kjell, Country Sales Manager at Svenska SELECT Sport AB.

The official match ball from SELECT began to be used for the 2017 season for the first time. 2022 will be the sixth consecutive season with an official league ball for both the Allsvenskan and the Superettan.

The original agreement was for four seasons but was already extended in March 2020 to apply until the 2024 season.

The 2022 league ball is called Brillant Super and is a new quality ball made of high quality materials with the properties of the classic SELECT ball. The surface material’s new 3D diamond structure guarantees an even more stable trajectory, optimized friction between ball and shoe and the best grip for goalkeepers.

“We are very pleased with the collaboration with SELECT. Their match balls are very much appreciated by our clubs, where above all the sporting aspects are given high priority, and in addition the match balls add an important business dimension at league level. SELECT as a supplier really stands for the high quality and service that you want from a long-term partner”, says Jan Karlsson, Sales Director at Swedish Professional Football Leagues.

In 2021, 1047 goals have been scored with the official match ball so far, an average of 2.46 goals per match.

The official match ball 2022 is for sale in stores from Christmas shopping this year.
