Swedish Professional Football Leagues believes that qualification for international tournaments should be the result of sporting achievements in domestic leagues and that there also needs to be a more equitable financial distribution between all clubs in Europe. Swedish Professional Football Leagues therefore strongly opposes a concept with a European Super League.
A few top clubs’ own financial interests should not be allowed to control the development of football and lead to the abolishment of established structures in European football. It would do great damage to domestic leagues and to European football in general.
Swedish Professional Football therefore fully support the joint statement of UEFA and others.
