More than 140 sports journalists attended the most clearest spring sign – the launch event of Allsvenskan – at Arlanda Airport. With twelve days remaining to the first kick off of the Swedish top league, all participants gave their thoughts for the upcoming season.
”The supporters are our heart and soul. We try to build on their passion”, says Mats Enquist, Secretary General at Swedish Professional Football Leagues.
Allsvenskan is and should be the league of the supporters and for some time now the Swedish Elite Football and the Swedish Football Supporter Union (SFSU) have a joint cooperation where the goal is to create the best supporters cooperation in Europe.
Swedish Professional Football Leagues also had a public conversation with some of the clubs and the referees regarding mutual respect for each other on the pitch.
”It is important that everyone involved behaves as one wants to be treated himself. People can always disagree but the criticism should be objective and it should come to me as a referee, not as a person”, says Stefan Johannesson chief of the Allsvenskan referees.
The launch event also contained a mini fair where journalists had the opportunity to interview all club representatives as the head coach and team captain. It was followed by the obligatory photo of the Allsvenskan coaches and a joint dinner. Afterwards, the live tv show took place where all allsvenskan clubs participated. Sports media voted for their 2019 end table in Allsvenskan.
Finally the stadium for the Swedish Cup Final was drawn. BK Häcken plays at home against AFC Eskilstuna on May 30.
